# Basequel

> Basequel is a managed, Supabase-compatible backend platform from Sequel AI. Every project is its own isolated stack (Postgres 17, Auth, auto-generated REST and GraphQL APIs, Storage, Realtime, Edge Functions, Studio). Apps keep using supabase-js — only the URL and keys change. Hosted in the EU (Germany). Agent-native via an MCP server and the `basql` CLI. Currently in early access.

Key facts:

- Hosting: Germany (Hetzner, Nuremberg), behind Cloudflare with strict TLS.
- Backups: encrypted daily backups to off-site object storage (Cloudflare R2), 30-day retention, plus an automatic weekly restore test.
- Migration from Supabase Cloud in one command: schema, data, Auth users (passwords keep working), Storage files, scheduled jobs (copied paused so nothing runs twice) and Edge Functions. Re-copy right before switching; URLs and keys stay the same.
- Optional per-project public, TLS-encrypted Postgres endpoint for serverless apps using Drizzle, Prisma or pg directly.
- Agents: MCP server (claude.ai connector via OAuth; Claude Code, Hermes and other agents via tokens) and the `basql` CLI, with scoped tokens, read-only SQL by default and an audit log of every agent call. In active development; exact URLs and install commands are not yet published.
- In production for Prospel, AutoGenShorts, Intelligo, LatticeRun, GenKid and Selfscript.
- Status: early access. No self-serve sign-up, billing or public pricing yet.
